Who enjoys visiting Taiwan in winter? Game developers! 🎮
Taipei Game Show has grown to be one of Asia’s largest game industry and expo events. This year we joined to discover the latest news in the game industry in APAC and explore new business opportunities.
Starting in the expo area, the largest booths were occupied by Japanese and Chinese developers - Japanese games sure are popular in Taiwan. We spotted Bandai Namco, Nintendo, Square Enix and Sega. Chinese developers including miHoYo and Yostar displayed their mobile games.
We also met Mario, Sonic and had the pleasure to attend Pikachu's press conference!
While the expo area was entertaining, we spent the majority of time in the B2B area building connections and discussing opportunities with game businesses in Southeast Asia.
Among new friends we made are Yahaha from Singapore and Lemon Sky Studios from Malaysia. We also caught up with our friends from BattleBrew Productions in Singapore!
Overall, we were impressed with the way Taipei Game Show struck a perfect balance between large-scale B2C areas, spaces for business development, and casual social events, allowing for seamless transitions between forging professional connections and engaging in casual, ice-breaking conversations. This year, the social events were once again kindly sponsored by Xbox and our friends at Neon Doctrine.
